New Sign Technology Distinguishes Between Sexes and Five Age Groups

TruMedia announces its new technology allows for facial recognition detection between the sexes and can now determine the difference between five age groups, up from its previous three age groups.

“Proactive digital signage with such segmentation accuracy in real time audience detection is an amazing feature for companies looking for advanced and accurate advertising,” says Moti Gura, CEO of TruMedia Technologies. “We are pushing this technology to its limits and producing fantastic results.”

The current age groups supported by TruMedia are:
  • Less than 12 years old
  • 12 – 18 years old
  • 18 – 35 years old
  • 36 – 65 years old
  • Over 65 years old
The idea is to change viewership behaviour by showing targeted content, the company says. For example, if a display is placed in an area promoting vacations, and a senior citizen is watching, the product will display golf resorts or tranquility vacations. If a teenager or young people are watching, it will display bungee jumping or extreme adventures.

The product also allows for audience measurement capabilities that were previously unavailable, telling marketers how many people were watching, what they saw, how long they were watching for, and if a particular location gathers more audience exposure over another.
